Investigators work to find cause of cabinet store fire

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The North Charleston Fire Department urged people with breathing problems to avoid the area of a fire Tuesday afternoon at a cabinet store.
Police responded to a call at approximately 1 p.m. at the Brock Cabinets building in the 7500 block of Sandlapper Parkway off Ashley Phosphate Road.
Firefighters warned of lots of smoke in the area that could make breathing difficult for people who has asthma or other breathing issues.

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - Deputies say one person is in critical condition after being shot early Thursday morning at a shopping center parking lot.
Just after 1:30 a.m., dispatchers learned about a shooting victim who was being treated at Summerville Medical Center, according to Dorchester County Sheriff’s Lt. Rick Carson. Investigators learned the shooting happened at the Windsor Hill Shopping Center in the 3700 block of Ashley Phosphate Road.
The shopping center contains a Food Lion store and JC Bar and Grille. Deputies taped off the area and began an investigation into the shooting.

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Westbound traffic along I-26 in North Charleston is back to normal after crews cleared the scene of a crash Monday afternoon.
According to SCDOT, the incident was at Exit 209 to Ashley Phosphate Road. Highway Patrol reported there were injuries involved.
Earlier this afternoon, all lanes were closed as crews worked the scene.

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - A North Charleston couple said their house hunt just received a big boost thanks to a lottery win.
The couple, who did not want to be named, purchased a $10 Carolina Bonus Cash scratch-off ticket at the Carolina Express on Ashley Phosphate Road.
“It happened at the right time,” the man said. “We’ve been looking at houses for a while.”
