SWIMMING The boys swim team hosted the annual Hodag Relays with a scaled down format with only two other teams this year. The team managed to break three records on the way to winning the meet with 116 points to Marshfield’s 98 and Lakeland’s 82. That was even with one entry being disqualified. A record was set in the first event, the 200 yard medley relay erasing the mark from 2017 by Marcus O’Malley, Charlie Heck, Ashton Cole and Zacha King. ....
Star Journal Boys Swimming: Hodags dominate in home win Share: Sophomore Daniel Gillingham placed second in the 100 yard butterfly to Jack Antonuk while Jacob Schoppe earned a thirdplace finish to complete a sweep in another event. Tuesday night the boys swim team hosted their second conference meet, welcoming Shawano. The boys were trying to duplicate what the girls did in conference meets and not lose any events. The feat is a difficult one and was still possible until the 500 yard freestyle swim when Shawano won the event and the Hodags placed second and third. The rest of the meet went Rhinelander’s way as the Hodags won 130-40. The 500 was the only event to not go the Hodags’ way. Photos by Bob Mainhardt. ....
