PARTS of Swindon have seen the number of new coronavirus cases double, though some areas have still had fewer than three within a week. The government s interactive map uses figures from the seven days leading up to June 28 to determine the extent to which Covid-19 cases are rising or falling in different parts of the borough and beyond. Places that had managed to keep the number of new cases suppressed to a low level, like Walcot East, Cricklade and Ashton Keynes, Lydiard Millicent and Purton, and Gorse Hill - saw a sharp rise in new Covid cases though overall numbers remained small.

Seven areas of the Swindon borough have managed to successfully suppress the coronavirus - for now. The latest Covid heat map from the government indicates that Cricklade and Ashton Keynes, Haydon Wick, Highworth, Freshbrook North and Grange Park, Eldene and Dorcan, Kingshill and Okus, and Groundwell and Abbey Meads have all recorded fewer than three new cases in the seven days up to March 1. So these sections are now cleared of colour and data is not available as they are categorised as having suppressed the virus. That status may have changed in the week since the latest available data, but other areas are also close to wiping out the infectious disease, like Moredon and Royal Wootton Bassett Town.
