Pakistan-Uzbek ties strengthening: governor

LAHORE:Governor Ch Muhammad Sarwar has said Pakistan and Uzbekistan have long and deep historical cultural ties and both countries are getting closer and closer with passage of time.
The governor met with Deputy Governor of Namangan region of Uzbekistan along with a 14-member delegation comprising deputy ministers of investment and foreign trade departments, senior officials and top businessman of Namangan region.
The meeting took place in Governor’s House. They agreed to promote cooperation in trade, economy, and culture and in other areas of common interest. Details revealed that the Inamov Okibjon, deputy governor of Namangan region of Uzbekistan, Abdullayev Nodirbek from ministry of investment and foreign trade, Muzaffar Abdug from ministry of economic development and other officials joined the meeting. ....

LAHORE : A Lahore-based NGO, the Lahore Center for Peace Research, has convened an international conference titled “Evolving Partnership for Peace and Prosperity among Pakistan, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan and Central Asian States” in Istanbul, Turkey, from February 16-17, 2021, in collaboration with its Turkish partner the Center for Diplomatic Affairs and Political Studies, Istanbul.
The Pakistani delegation comprising Dr Salman Shah, adviser to Punjab chief minister on economic affairs, planning and development; Prof Dr Asghar Zaidi, vice-chancellor of Government College University, Lahore; Awais Rauf, chairman of private university and Nazir Hussain, former additional foreign secretary, will participate in the conference. A large number of senior scholars and experts will join the conference from Central Asia, Turkey and other parts of the world. ....

The Lahore Center for Peace Research is hosting a two-day conference on “Re-Imagining the Silk Road- Pakistan Kyrgyzstan Relations in the Age of Connectivity” at the Sheraton Hotel in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. On the first day of the conference, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan, Mr. Eric Beshibimov, said that Pakistan is strategically important for Kyrgyzstan. As a landlocked country, Kyrgyzstan wants access to global markets through ports such as Gwadar and Karachi. The Kyrgyz ambassador stressed that undergoing basic projects such as Pakistan, China, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan Road must be completed as soon as possible. ....
