Andy Beshear.In a press release, Beshear confirmed that the Biden administration is increasing Kentucky s vaccine supply by 5% this week. The bump means that in total, the state’s supply will increase by 22% the week of Feb. 8 in comparison with the week of Jan. 25. “The president announced that his administration is increasing our supply by another 5%. Again, our challenge is supply, supply, supply. Remember, we will get a vaccine to everybody, it’s just going to take some time,” Beshear said. Last week, the Biden administration said they would make about 10.1 million first and second doses available this week, up from the previous allotment of 8.6 million. To minimize the spread of COVID-19, Gov. Andy Beshear today announced an extension of a special program that grants Kentuckians access to renew or replace a driving or identity credential through their Circuit Court Clerk’s preferred mail-in or drop method. The order applies to Kentucky driver’s licenses, permits and state-issued identification cards that expired or will expire by June 30, 2021. Applicants who require driver testing performed by Kentucky State Police must successfully complete that step before renewing a credential. To learn more, see the full release.

Show Transcript TODAY AT THE FIRST REGIONAL VACCINATION CENTER IN THE COMMONWEALTH. GOVERNOR BESHEAR HELPED OPEN THE SITE LOCATED INSIDE THE KENTUCKY HORSE PARK IN LEXINGTON. IT IS EXPECTED TO VACCINATE MORE THAN 300 PEOPLE EACH WEEK WITH PRIORITY GIVEN TO PEOPLE AGES 70 AND OLDER. CURRENTLY, PEOPLE MUST WALK INTO THE BUILDING TO RECEIVE THE VACCINE BUT THE GOVERNOR SET THE PLAN AT SOME POINT IS TO EXPAND AND TO ADD A DRIVE-THRU OPTION.
