Latics boss Keith Curle Oldham Athletic’s new head coach is still in search of his first win at the helm of the Boundary Park club after suffering injury time heartbreak at Scunthorpe United. All seemed to going to plan for Latics to collect all three points away from home when Alfie McCalmont gave them the lead just three minutes after halftime. After a first half dominated by the home side, McCalmont fired in his sixth goal of the season through a host of bodies in the penalty areas after the Iron could only half clear a corner. King then struck again in the closing stages to seal a 4-1 victory. Jason Tindall’s men will find out their next opponents of the competition in Monday’s draw. ....
Weekend review | Conor Hazard inspires Celtic to Scottish Cup win Goalkeeper Conor Hazard was the hero of the hour as Celtic clinched victory following a dramatic 4-3 Scottish Cup final penalty shoot-out win over Hearts at Hampden Park yesterday. With Neil Lennon’s side leading 2-0 at the break, Northern Ireland striker Liam Boyce got Hearts back into the game with a headed goal early in the second period with the contest eventually ending in a 3-3 draw after extra-time. In the ensuing shoot-out Michael Smith converted for the Jambos while 22-year-old Hazard, playing just his third senior game for Parkhead outfit, covered himself in glory with two penalty saves from Stephen Kingsley and Craig Wighton ....
