Kelly Cavanaugh, an assistant principal at Canton High School, will take over for OA Principal Wes Paul, who is retiring at the conclusion of the school year. Kelly is an accomplished professional with the capacity and energy to meet the needs of the students and staff at Oliver Ames, Easton Superintendent Superintendent Lisha Cabral said. She is passionate about serving Easton and initiating changes and improvements as we move into the future, while also preserving the honored traditions and history of Oliver Ames and the Easton community. ....

Miller Correspondent EASTON In a showdown between two of the Hockomock League s best volleyball squads, Canton High relied on its defensive consistency and fast starts to sweep Oliver Ames in three games on the Tigers home court. The Bulldogs (6-1) started fast, established modest leads of three-to-five points in all three games, and then held on as OA struggled to find any momentum while playing from behind most of the day. Change is a constant in high school sports, and this year of the pandemic has created even more churn among lineups, but for the Canton the week started off seeing them dealt one more wild card before their two-game home and away series with the fine OA team. ....
Wicked Local MANSFIELD – Dozens of fellow law enforcement officers, retired police officers, town officials and friends lined Rt. 106 Friday, March 12 to salute Mansfield police Lt. Roy Bain as he arrived at work for his last call. In a new tradition, the department presented Bain with the flag that flew at the public safety building for the last 24 hours at the conclusion of his career, Police Chief Ron Sellon said. Bain retired last week after 26 years on the job with the Mansfield police. He was promoted to lieutenant in 2018. He was assigned to the state’s METROLEC SWAT team in 2004 and became an element leader in 2012. Bain was among those who responded following the Marathon bombing in 2013 to search Watertown for the bomber. ....
