Tue, 05/11/2021 - 10:30pm CAMDEN Camden Police reported issuing three traffic citations between April 15-23. Of the three traffic citations, two were issued for speeding and one for operating with a license expired 30-90 days. In addition to the traffic infractions, Camden Police reported six summonses, including the following activity. An arrest or summons does not constitute a conviction, and those charged are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Juveniles age 17-or-younger are not named. April 8 Michael McKeown, 76, of Belfast, was issued a summons by Officer Paul Thompson for operating after suspension. April 11 Marcus Mrowka, 31, of Camden was issued a summons by Officer Scott Entwistle for operating under the influence. ....
[email protected] MIFFLINTOWN–While giving an update on the state of COVID-19 vaccination availability in Juniata County, emergency services director Allen Weaver announced the county no longer has plans to conduct any mass clinics. According to Weaver, due to the shortage of vaccines the Department of Health and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) decided to streamline the vaccine distribution through healthcare providers at strategically located large vaccination sites rather than county clinics. “I know there has been a lot of conversation about county clinics and a lot expectation. [email protected] Mifflintown – During a brief meeting Tuesday the Juniata County commissioners ratified the receipt of the Juniata County Rights and Services Act (RASA) and Victims of Juvenile Offenders (VOJO) Services Grant application sub-grant in the amount of $79,144.00 as submitted by Sylvia Middaugh, Victim Witness Program Coordinator. The funds provided by the RASA and VOJO program are to support the carrying out of responsibilities assigned to Prosecution and Juvenile Probation under the Crime Victims Act (Act 85 of 2002), the Juvenile Act and Pennsylvania’s Rules of Juvenile Court Procedure. The goal of RASA and VOJO funding is to ensure that victims of crimes committed by adult and juvenile offenders, whose cases are processed within the criminal and juvenile justice systems, receive all the rights and services to which they are entitled under law.
