AN overgrown yard has been transformed into a colourful outside space for Cockermouth Library. Three town councillors - David Malloy, Alan Kennon and Simon Nicholson - have cleared out the area at the back of the Main Street building. Councillor Kennon, who is also a borough and county councillor, used £500 of his county council funds to pay for two benches, made out of recycled plastic. One is suitable for wheelchair users.
