Burlington, Ia- After being forced to postpone due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Burlington Paint a Thon is back on for 2021. At a conference Friday, June 11th, 2021, event organizers made the announcement that the event will take place this year the week of September 6th. Burlington Mayor Jon Billups started off the conference by stating what the return of the Paint A Thon means to Burlington. "As mayor and as a citizen, I was thrilled to hear about it," Billups Said. "The impact that the Paint a Thon has had on our community, it's not just the paint, volunteers seem to help and repair homes and fix the exteriors it makes the whole community feel more pride about their homes" Two Rivers Bank and Trust president Shane Zimmerman expressed the need for volunteers for this year's event.
