Dozens rally against "Stand Your Ground" bill in Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KATV) âÂ Dozens of state and religious leaders, as well as activists from across Arkansas, rallied at the Capitol Sunday to express concerns against the proposed stand your ground legislation.
The bill, sponsored by Sen. Bob Ballinger, R-Ozark, ends the duty to retreat when using physical or deadly force. SB 24 sailed through the senate on a 27-7 vote, but not before a heated debate that came down to race, your rights to defend yourself, and some arguing the current law is fine as is.
Ballinger argued that the current law on the books contains ambiguous language.
This is not a license to kill, this does not give you the ability to shoot first and answer questions later, this is the same policy that is in place in the majority of other states,â said Ballinger. ....

Arkansas Sen. Bob Ballinger’s sophomoric assault on a bill to eliminate sales taxes on feminine hygiene products has a silver liner. Looks like a mysterious moon goddess is leaving baskets of free tampons and pads in women’s bathrooms throughout the Capitol. (The tags on the baskets indicate Ballinger is behind them, but we have our doubts.)
Someone stashed free tampons and pads around the AR Capitol today in response to controversy over making feminine hygiene products tax-free.

Violence broke out as dead-end Trumpers marched in Washington today and stormed the nation’s capitol. I expect Sen. Tom Cotton to call any minute now for federal troops to take no quarter to stop the rioting.
Hundreds stormed barricades around the nation’s Capitol and reached the steps, where Congress was debating the effort by Trumpers to force Congress to reject the Electoral College votes. It won’t happen in the end, but it will take hours before the stunt by foes of democracy is over. ....
