Man with ‘brain eating disease’ fined for violent public threats Crime by Elizabeth Neil Premium Content Subscriber only A 47-year-old Gympie man suffering from a brain disorder could be heard threatening and hurling abuse at a Gympie Regional Council ranger outside a coffee shop in Mary St. Brent Aaron Wickham pleaded guilty in Gympie Magistrates Court on Monday to charges of public nuisance and for threatening to kill a council ranger, after he reacted viciously when approached by two rangers in March 2021. Police prosecutor Barry Stevens said Wickham acted aggressively towards the rangers, on March 3 and March 11. Wickham was approached by two council rangers the first time, after he was seen holding a dog between his legs while sitting at a table outside a coffee shop in Mary St, raising suspicions the dog was unleashed in public. ....
Norwich to Bainbridge Police Chase Ends in Felony Charges Risto Viitanen, Getty Images A police pursuit on Thursday that started in Norwich and ended in Bainbridge results in a man facing felony charges. Police say they tried to stop Aaron Wickham of Norwich who was riding a motorcycle and committed several moving violations. The pursuit ended with Wickham crashing his motorcycle and he refused medical treatment. A search resulted in the seizure of two ounces of methamphetamine and more than a gram of fentanyl. Kathy Whyte/ WNBF News Authorities noticed the motorcycle committing several traffic violations at around 2:30 p.m. Thursday March 11 and Deputies tried to initiate a traffic stop. The operator identified as 32-year-old Aaron Wickham kept driving, leading police on a low to moderate speed chase before losing control in the Village of Bainbridge and crashing. Wickham refused medical treatment and authorities say they found him in possession of about two ounces of methamphetamine and more than a gram of fentanyl.
