NEW ORLEANS There are all sorts of reasons why people feel uncomfortable about getting a COVID vaccine.
And sometimes, all it takes is some good, solid medical advice from a doctor to walk you through your concerns.
That s what happened when Medical Reporter Meg Farris, by chance, got to talk with one of our local musicians.
Now, he s a step closer to immunity and getting back out to perform.
It all started with solving a mystery. A friend asked me to get a Mary Soniat painting to the man in the portrait. I asked entertainer Charmaine Neville for help. She said it was well-known saxophone player Charles Elam, aka “Chucky C.” ....

Aaron Joseph Neville, Grammy Award-winning New Orleans soul vocalist and musician announced he s done with touring. The last year has made him realize that life is too short and it is time to slow down.
80-year-old Aaron Neville, known for having the voice of an angel, is done with touring. He took to Facebook to announce his departure from grueling tour schedules claiming touring has become less desirable .
I waited for someone to invent a way to beam me from show to show but no such luck. I love singing for others, it provides so much joy for me, at least as much as for those listening, if not more. New Orleans soul legend Aaron Neville announces his retirement from touring

Aaron Neville has announced that he’s retiring from touring.
Neville, who celebrated his 80th birthday in January, posted a message on his official website Thursday in which he explains, “The time has come for me to stop ripping and running on the road. I waited for someone to invent a way to beam me from show to show but no such luck.”
He continues, “Unfortunately, the grueling nature of travel and the schedule needed to make a tour work has become less than desirable. The current climate of our world brought me many realizations. Life is short and I’d like to spend my remaining time on this earth being less hurried.” ....

Fans of the sweet, melodic sounds of New Orleans’ legendary vocalist Aaron Neville won’t have many opportunities to hear him live from now on.
In posts Thursday on his official website and via social media, Neville announced his official retirement from touring.
Now 80, Neville said embarking on multi-date tours is no longer appealing.
“The time has come for me to stop ripping and running on the road,” Neville wrote. “I waited for someone to invent a way to beam me from show to show but no such luck. … Unfortunately, the grueling nature of travel and the schedule needed to make a tour work has become less than desirable. The current climate of our world brought me many realizations. Life is short and I’d like to spend my remaining time on this earth being less hurried.” ....
