RIVERTON â Wyomingâs meat processing industry is growing, a development Central Wyoming College is watching closely. During a July 19 meeting of the Wyoming Legislatureâs Joint Appropriations Committee, Wyoming Sen. Brian Boner, R-Douglas, testified about the impacts of House Bill 51, which was passed last year âauthorizing a governmental program related to expanding and enhancing meat processing capabilitiesâ in the state. The legislation created a meat processing expansion grant program with a $2 million allocation, according to Boner â but about $6 million in requests have been received. âThatâs in stark contrast to the similar â if not exactly the same â program we had a year ago, where $5 million was on the table and we only expended a little over $3 million,â Boner said. âI think thatâs a strong indication that this industry, which basically did not exist in any meaningful way before the pandemic, is re ....

Current law puts the nominees of the party that carried that county in the last election on the top line. The bill gives every candidate an equal chance to be listed first. It provides for alphabetical order, combined with a lottery every election year to settle the order of the various letters of the alphabet. The bill’s sponsor is Marshall Burt (L-Green River).
