Rock Springs and Green River were the host cities for this years Thoman-Jackman Tournament. Covid restrictions created a dual event this season. The Worland Warriors went into the tournament ranked fourth in Wyoming 3A wrestling. Day one of the duals would have Worland in Pool 4 with Rock Springs, Sheridan, and Mountain View. First up were the Rock Springs Tigers. Ranked sixth as a team in Wyoming 4A wrestling and having nine ranked wrestlers including Broc Flethcher the number one ranked 4A wrestler at 106 pounds. Fletcher would beat Anthony Martinez by fall.

Schedule changes and teams dropping out made for drama beyond the mat. When the dust settled and the matches began the Warriors performed, and preformed well. The opening match against Lovell would be a loss 36 to 41. Luke Goncalves, Ross Goncalves, Aaron Carver, and Lane McBee would come out with wins. Josh Rose wrestled number 3 ranked 2A Myzeck McArthur and would lose, but he wrestled well and would win plenty over the next two days. New Castle/Upton would go down 18 to 59 against Worland. The 126 pound weight class would be the featured match as the Dogies had number 6 ranked Cael Holmes face number 3 ranked Ross Goncalves. Ross would get the win by fall giving the Warriors the 6 points.

Friday afternoon The Warriors would face the Cody Broncs in their first dual of the 2020-2021 season. The 106 pound weight class would be a forfeit all weekend for the Warriors. The State of Wyoming’s number one ranked wrestler at 106 pounds was in quarantine this week. Anthony Martinez will be out for the Battle in the Big Horns as well. Worland beat Cody 54-19 with 9 falls by the Warrior Wrestlers. Worland would then face pre-season number one ranked Wyoming 4A Natrona County
