Health Department Announces New Schedule At The COVID Alstom Testing Site

The Hamilton County Health Departmentâs COVID testing site at Alstom will no longer operate on Sundays, beginning January 24. The site will continue operations 6 days a week from Monday through Saturday, 10:00AM-2:30PM. As always, testing continues to be free and no appointment is necessary.
âThere has been a steady decrease in the demand for testing,â said Health Department Administrator Becky Barnes, âand an increase in both the demand and supply of vaccine. Therefore, we are making changes to accommodate this new phase of pandemic response and will redirect staff from our testing site to our vaccination sites on Sundays. We want to assure the community that we will continue to offer free testing as long as there is a need.â ....

At least 183 hospital staff and physicians in Hamilton are self-isolating because of COVID-19.
Hamilton Health Sciences is reporting 183 staff and physicians are self-isolating, 63 of which tested positive for the virus.
St. Joseph s Health Hamilton told CBC News 36 St. Joe s health-care workers self-isolated from Jan. 1 to Jan. 12 but did not say how many staff currently have COVID-19. It s also unclear how many of them are still isolating and how many others have joined them. ....

The Hamilton County Health Department is now offering the COVID-19 vaccine to an amended list of both Phase 1a1 and Phase 1a2, and will begin to offer age-based vaccination in 10-year age brackets, starting with those aged 75 and above. This change begins Thursday.

The drive-thru clinic vaccination for qualifying individuals does not require an appointment and is free.

Hamilton County To Begin Dispensing COVID Vaccine Wednesday To Those In Tier 1a1

In a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, Health Department Administrator Becky Barnes said, Today we have received 1,500 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, with an additional 1,800 doses to arrive Wednesday. This vaccine will be used for those that qualify for those in Tier 1a1.
Moderna received Emergency Use Authorization approval on Dec, 18 to vaccinate adults 18 years of age and older and is a two dose regime given 28 days apart.
Tier 1a1 includes hospital staff (hospitals have already begun vaccinating their staff; first responders; staff working COVID-19 mass testing sites; home health care staff; providers of student health services (K-12 and universities); staff and residents of long term care facilities; staff and residents of intellectually or developmentally disabled facilities; detention centers, Department of Children’s Service ....
