Autonomous communities to receive more than 2 million vaccines in a day

The autonomous communities will receive more than 2 million doses of vaccines against COVID-19, a new record in the Vaccination Campaign, since, as highlighted by the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, is the first time that this amount has been distributed in a single day.
Starting today, April 26 and every Monday in May, an average of 1.7 million Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine doses will arrive in Spain, thus increasing the response capacity against the virus. Number of variant COVID-19 cases continues to climb


It was no April Fool’s joke when Alberta Premier Jason Kenney announced there would be no easing of restrictions ahead of the Easter long weekend during the Thursday, April 1 regular COVID update.
As new case numbers continue to climb, with 875 new cases reported during the Thursday update, so too are the number of variants of concern cases.
“Instead of delivering a message of openness and optimism, I’m here instead with a plea. Please, please follow Alberta’s health restrictions and guidelines this weekend, and in the weeks to come,” Premier Kenney said during the press conference.
He reminded Albertans of the ongoing restriction on indoor social gatherings, and encouraged those who wished to gather to do so outside with social distancing. ....

• 11 Ebola cases and 4 deaths have been confirmed in the Health Zones of Biena, Katwa, Musienene and Butembo, all in the North Kivu Province. Two of the 11 cases are healthcare professionals. Two people recovered and were discharged from the Ebola Treatment Centre. There are no cases among children;
• Two children were looked after by the “lullaby nurses” in the UNICEF-supported crèche in Katwa Hospital, Butembo. One child was reunited with his mother on 3 March;
• 367,906 people were reached by the Community Action Cells (CAC) members with Ebola awareness messages;
• 929 healthcare providers were briefed on Ebola prevention and other care protocols; ....

Public Health Reports 6 New COVID-19 Cases


Public Health reported six new cases of COVID-19 spread across four different regions.
The two cases in Zone 2 (Saint John region) are:
an individual 20-29; and
 The one case in Zone 3 (Fredericton region) is:
an individual 30-39 and is travel-related.
The one case in Zone 4 (Edmundston region) is:
an individual 20-29. The case is under investigation.
The two cases in Zone 7 (Miramichi region) are:
two people 50-59. Both cases are linked to previous cases.
A mass testing clinic has been created in the Miramichi region to help address the recent spike in case numbers. Anyone in the region who is asymptomatic but would like to get tested can do so at the gymnasium of the Dr. Losier Middle School, 124 Henderson St., Miramichi. Zone 7 has the second most active cases among New Brunswick’s Health Zones with 12. ....
