WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Paul Tonko announced that several local public health organizations have been awarded a combined $83,913,889 to be administered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) funding programs that support local mental health services, crisis response, cancer research, technology systems updates and more. “This year has offered powerful, often painful lessons in the importance of public health and the vital services our health centers and workers provide,” Tonko said. “We need to make sure these local facilities and staff can get the resources they need to get themselves and all of us through this challenging time, all while continuing to provide the critical lifesaving support that our communities depend on.
