Buhari reminds Nigerians to guard unity of Nigeria jealously

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday in Abuja reminded Nigerians of the need to guard jealously the unity of the nation which was won at great cost.
Buhari made the call when he presided over the wreath-laying at the National Memorial Arcade to mark the end of the 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration (AFRDC).
The event marked the climax of the 2021 AFRDC, which started with the inauguration of the 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem and Appeal Fund where the president appealed to Nigerians to desist from actions and comments that could jeopardise the unity and progress of the nation. ....

First to lay the wreath was the President, followed by the Vice President, Prof.
Yemi Osinbajo, the Senate President, Speaker, House of Representatives and Chief Justice of Nigeria.
In another order, the Minister of Defence, Retired Maj.-Gen.
Bashir Magashi and his Federal Capital Territory counterpart, Malam
Mohammed Bello laid the wreaths.
Thereafter, the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen.
Gabriel Olonisakin; the Chiefs of Army, Lt.-Gen.
Tukur Buratai; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal
Sadiq Abubakar; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Adm.
Ibok-Ete Ibas, performed the exercise.

As the nation marks the 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN has reiterated the need for Nigerians to, as a mark of honour for the sacrifices of the men and women of the armed forces, show more commitment to the unity of the nation and the task of building a better society.
Prof. Osinbajo, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Boss Mustapha, stated this Sunday at the Interdenominational Church Service to mark the 2021 Armed Force Remembrance Day Celebration, held at the National Christian Centre, Abuja.
According to the Vice President, “drawn from all across the country, these brave men and women of the Armed Forces have made our nation proud and their lives show us what it means to be patriots. Each one of them remind us of the timeless words of our national pledge: ‘to be faithful, loyal and honest, to serve Nigeria with all our strength, to defend her unity and uphold her honour ....
