Mrs. Doris Pearl (Mays) Clark, 89, passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021 at Lakebridge Skilled Nursing Center in Johnson City, TN. Doris was born on July 1, 1931 in Oilton, Oklahoma. She was the youngest of seven children. Her parents were Roscoe and Stella Mays. Doris graduated from Oilton High School in 1948 and moved to Tulsa, OK soon after to attend Draughnâs Business School. She moved to Oklahoma City, OK in the early 1950âs where she worked as a secretary for an oil field supply house. In 1955 a friend arranged for her to meet Robert Clark, an US Air Force Navigator who was home on leave prior to a deployment to France. After a whirlwind romance and marriage in May, 1955, Doris and Bob moved to France for a year where they lived in a converted chateau and traveled extensively around Europe. Upon returning to the US, they settled in Oklahoma City and Bob finished his college education. ....

An Oilton, Oklahoma, man has been charged with a felony for allegedly firing a weapon out of a vehicle on Wednesday, April 28, in Saline County. According to a probable-cause statement, a Saline County deputy was dispatched to a residence on Magnolia Avenue in reference to threats. The reporting party advised he had received a text message from Aaron Michael Gieringer, and he felt Gieringer was going to harm his dog. The deputy responded and observed a vehicle matching the description provided, which he observed to be occupied. As the deputy placed his vehicle in park, he said he observed Gieringer stick the barrel of a shotgun out of the driver’s window and fire one shot into the air in the southwest direction, where a residence is located approximately less than one mile away. The deputy ordered Gieringer to exit the vehicle five times, and he did not comply. A short time later, Gieringer complied and exited the vehicle. ....

Sales Tax For Fire Department Funding On Creek County Ballot Tuesday is election day in Oklahoma and Creek County voters will decide a sales tax increase that would help fund fire departments. Creek County has 15 fire departments and all but three are volunteer departments that mainly depend on things like fundraisers and bake sales to keep their stations running. “Right now [volunteer firefighters] are not only fighting fires but then they re coming back and they re having a bake sale or they re having some kind of fundraiser stuff and then it turns into a full-time thing and then they have their [paying] job to go to,” said Mannford Fire Chief Bob Evans. ....
