GNDR is seeking a Regional Coordinator to support the GNDR network in the South East & East Asia, and Pacific Subregion. Applicants can be based in Bangkok, Manila, Jakarta, or Kuala Lumpur, though other locations with similar access to Bangkok may be considered.
GNDR is a network of civil society organisations across 127 countries striving to build the resilience of disaster-prone communities. We have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Coordinator to oversee our work in the South East & East Asia, and Pacific Subregion. The role is responsible for all activities in the subregion, including the development, support, and management of membership; knowledge management on Risk-Informed Development; supporting fundraising and project management; and influencing policy-makers to adopt and implement Risk Informed Development. ....

In today’s discussion, we framed Urban resilience as ‘an old challenge gaining new urgency’. Although this imperative has been evident for long, it has become central to today’s development discourse. The impact of Covid-19 was predominantly ‘urban’, with nearly 90% of the people affected and major socio-economic disruption caused, in cities. It has exposed the ‘soft underbelly’ of our urban development, governance and risk management systems. ....
