Besides other terror acts, militants’ attack on Peshawar Air Port on December 15, this year, and a car bomb which killed 17 people in the Jamrud bazaar in Khyber Agency on December 18, the assassination of Senior Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister and the courageous leader of the Awami National Party (ANP) Bashir Ahmad Bilour including eight people on December 22 came like a fresh challenge from the Taliban. Bashir Bilour who escaped attempts on his life many times was a symbol of “anti-Taliban resistance.” ....
By Sajjad Shaukat Recently, propaganda intensified that the militant outfit Daish or ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and Syria) has its presence in Pakistan. Besides some newspapers and media anchors of some TV channels also misperceived that ISIS has penetrated into Pakistan. In fact, they made their observation on the basis of media announcements by the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) leaders and Indian media. Although ISIS does not exist in Pakistan, yet Pakistan government, law-enforcing agencies, media and civil society must exercise high degree of vigilance against any possible ingress by any elements like ISIS. Despite this, existence of ISIS in Pakistan needs special analysis, as its presence can not merely be propagated on the basis of wall chalking or media announcements of the TTP leaders and India. ....

India’s count shows a blast in Covid infections. Transporters of many countries, carrying oxygen cylinders, other hospital equipments have begun reaching India. China has also offered New Delhi related-equipments to fight Covid-19. Despite foreign aid, this novel virus has become out of control. Indians have started demanding the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to resign due to mishandling the corona crisis. Last year, under the guise of coronavirus, Indian fanatic rulers had imposed various kinds of restrictions on the Muslims. Modi’s government and the health ministry had claimed that Muslims are spreading this virus. As a result, Hindu extremists have set off a series of assaults against Muslims across the country. ....
