NEW DELHI: Handling the second such case in the history of judiciary, the Supreme Court on Tuesday agreed that stripping a lawyer of senior advocate designation is akin to professional death warrant but struggled to find a middle path for redemption of Yatin Oza, whose senior gown was withdrawn by Gujarat High Court after his conviction in contempt of court case. Renowned senior advocates - A M Singhvi, C A Sundaram, Arvind Datar and Dushyant Dave - put up a medley of persuasive tunes before a bench of Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Hemant Gupta that ranged from Oza s unqualified apology, his solemn promise never ever to repeat the festering contumacious conduct and lastly about his family lineage. ....
(MENAFN - IANS) y Anand Singh New Delhi, Feb 21 (IANS) The Central government had sanctioned 310 projects under the Namami Gange programme by January last year for various activities such as sewerage infrastructure and river front development at a cost of Rs 28,791 crore, out of which 116 projects have been completed so far. The details were shared by the government in reply to the recommendation made by the standing committee on water resources, whose report was shared in the Lok Sabha on February 9 this year. In its reply to the committee, the government said, As on January 31, 2020, a total of 310 projects were sanctioned under the Namami Gange programme for various activities such as sewerage infrastructure, ghats and crematoriums, river front development, river surface cleaning, institutional development, biodiversity conservation, afforestation and rural sanitation at a total cost of Rs 28,791 crore. ....
Several passports were seized from the arrested duo’s office VADODARA/ ANAND: Two persons including one from Vadodara and another from Surat were nabbed by the special operation group (SOG), Anand for duping a Nadiad resident after promising him work permit for Dubai. Anand police had received a missive from the ministry of external affairs, Mumbai regarding a complaint made by Nadiad resident Wasim Malek. In his plaint, Malek accused Jaydeep Patel, owner of J P International, a firm on Anand-Bhalej Road, of cheating him by promising him work permit from a Dubai-based firm by the name of Olive E-business LLC. ....
