February 18 LUKE POUND, 22, of Gainsborough Avenue, West Berkshire, admitted drug-driving in Turnpike Road, West Berkshire, on September 11, 2020. Found to have cannabis in his system. Also admitted using a vehicle without the correct insurance and with no valid licence on September 11, 2020, in the same road. Fined £100. Also ordered to pay £34 victim surcharge ad £85 court costs. Disqualified from driving for 14 months. February 19: PIOTR BALCHUT, 31, of Watlington Street, Reading, admitted two charges of assault by beating in Reading on May 15, 2020, and on October 7, 2020. Sentenced to 24 weeks in prison suspended for 24 months. Must also undertake 150 hours of unpaid work. Ordered to pay £128 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. ....
A THUG posed as a delivery driver before attacking a woman with a hammer. Richard Johnson sprinted from the scene of the attack shouting abuse after attacking the woman, her husband and son. Johnson admitted aggravated burglary following the incident on August 13 last year in Tilbury and was jailed at Basildon Crown Court. Prosecuting, Edmund Blackman said: “He attended the victim’s home address in Tilbury armed with a hammer which was hidden, and he was carrying a cardboard box and disguises himself as a delivery man wearing a surgical mask. “When she opened the door he grabs her arm, hits her two to three time with a hammer and she screamed, and the blows forced her to fall down. Her adult son rushed to her aid. ....

He was bailed until May when he will return to Reading Magistrates Court for a pre-sentencing hearing. Alison Baldwin of Wheelers Green Way, Thatcham Ms Baldwin has been fined £454 after being caught twice over the legal drink-drive limit in September 2020. She was stopped by police in Thatcham with 163 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood last year (80 milligrammes is the limit in blood). The 47-year-old pleaded guilty to drink-driving at Reading Magistrates Court on March 16, where she was also told that she will not be allowed to drive for 18 months. Andrew Goggis of London Road, Newbury An 18-month driving ban was also served to Mr Goggis at Reading Magistrates Court last month. ....
