After a year of pivoting its priorities to COVID-19 response, the University of Oklahomaâs leadership was able focus Thursday on a number of initiatives that will advance OUâs long term goals and vision.
The universityâs board approved a strategic plan-heavy agenda during its Thursday meeting. The plan, though never released to the public in its entirety, focuses heavily on making OU âa top-tier research university,â and outlines academic and cultural goals for OU over the years and decades ahead.
Washington State University has named an interim dean for its College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences.
The chair of the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences Rich Koenig will take over the post next month. Koenig replaces Andre-Denis Wright who left to be University of Oklahoma provost.
WSU will launch a national search this Fall to find a permanent CAHNRS dean.
The Dean of the College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences at Washington State University has been named the new provost at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Andre-Denis Wright is set to begin his new job in Norman on July 1st.
Wright was hired WSU CAHNRS dean just 3 years ago. He was a finalist for WSU provost last year.
Wright was also announced as a candidate for the president’s job at Louisiana State University this month. The Dean of WSU’s Carson College of Business Chip Hunter was also on the list of candidates for LSU president. Neither ended up being a finalist in Baton Rouge.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The LSU Presidential Search Committee has announced the list of 23 candidates who are seeking to become the next president of the university.
However, the committee announced Wednesday it narrowed down the list of candidates to eight out the 23 candidates listed
(see full list below).
On Monday, April 26 and Tuesday, April 27, committee members will begin interviewing candidates Laurence Alexander, Ron Clark, Jay Dardenne, Kelvin Droegemeier, Jim Henderson, Rustin Moore, Mary Ann Rankin, and Jeff Talley next week.
