&Open, the Dublin-based corporate gifting start-up, said it would double its employee headcount to more than 60 after raising €5.9 million in seed funding.
The funding round was led by First Round Capital and Local Globe, the venture capital firms. Angel investors include Des Traynor, a founder of Irish unicorn start-up Intercom, Liam Casey, founder and chief executive at PCH, and Andrew Robb, the former chief operating office at Farfetch, the luxury fashion platform. ....

The COVID 19 pandemic has laid bare the barriers and inequalities facing people with disabilities across all sectors of society. It is beyond time for B.C. to fulfil a long-standing promise to introduce an accessibility law to create a framework for the development of standards provincewide.
However, Bill 6, the proposed Accessible British Columbia Act introduced in April, has disappointed the disability community.

“Specifically, it gives us a way of identifying barriers, removing barriers and preferably preventing them from being established in the first place.”
The bill defines a barrier as “anything that hinders the full and equal participation in society of a person with an impairment,” and notes it could be “caused by environments, attitudes, practices, policies, information, communications or technologies, and. affected by intersecting forms of discrimination.”
The bill also gives cabinet the power to identify, remove and prevent barriers. It allows for an advisory committee to be struck and for a director to be appointed who can assess fines for certain contraventions of the act. ....
