The Patriot Ledger So you can t head out to hear live Irish music on St. Patrick s day this year, but you can watch a great Irish band, the Dropkick Murphys, perform virtually. Keeping with their annual tradition, the Irish punksters who got their start in 1996 in the basement of a barbershop in Quincy s Wollaston neighborhood will perform a free livestream show to commemorate the patron saint of Ireland. Titled “Still Locked Down,” the Blarney blowout gets underway at 7 p.m. March 17 and can be viewed at www.DKMstream.com. Fans can expect the usual mix of energy and Shamrock shenanigans from the band. The location of the concert is unknown, but a press release indicates the band will be performing on an arena-sized stage with a full LED screen and it will also feature a new video show. ....

A new era for St George Illawarra kicks off at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium when the Dragons host traditional rivals Cronulla in the first match of Anthony Griffin s tenure. The full-length concert will be free to watch, but the band is asking fans for donations, to “help support us in our efforts to keep paying our employees,” said singer Ken Casey, a Milton native who now lives in Hingham. In addition to Casey, the band s current lineup is, Al Barr on vocals, Matt Kelly on drums, James Lynch on guitar, Tim Brennan on accordion, mandolin, bouzouki and tin whistle, and Jeff DaRosa on banjo, mandolin, bouzouki and keyboards. Kevin Rheault and Lee Roshner will add support on bass and bagpipes, respectively. The concert will feature hits such as “I’m Shipping Up to Boston,” Tessie, “Rose Tattoo” and tracks from their new studio album, which will be released soon.
