Born August 12th, 1935 in Norwalk, CT, Donald was the 3rd son of Ida (Lockwood) and John E. Vallerie Sr. of Rowayton, CT.
Donald will be remembered with much love. In the early 1960’s Donald fell in love and then married the love of his life, Ann Hutchinson. He is survived by Ann, his wife of 58 years, and their children: Donald E. Vallerie Jr., Paul E. Vallerie and his wife, Carmen, Sarah Vallerie, Clarissa Burrows and her husband, Paul and Jennifer Kravec and her husband, Vincent. In addition, Donald is survived by 5 grandchildren: Jessica Vallerie, Cassandra and Kyle Burrows and George and Julianne Kravec, several nieces and nephews as well as a sister, Linda Iseley. ....

A D-Day veteran has celebrated his 96th birthday by being one of the first in the queue to receive a Covid-19 vaccination. Robert Stapleton, who was awarded the Legion d’ honneur for his part in the D-Day landings, was among 325 priority patients to be given the Pfizer vaccine at a GP hub in Spennymoor, County Durham. Accompanied by his daughter Ann Hutchinson, 65, Robert was given his vaccination by nurse practitioner Marie McGonnell. Ann, who tested positive for coronavirus in November, said: “After my own experience with Covid-19 it was really important to me that my dad got the vaccination as soon as it became available.” ....
