63rd Annual Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast May 15 The Kiwanis Club of Texarkana is hosting its 63rd Annual Pancake Day on Saturday, May 15th.. The all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast is going to be held at the Truman Arnold Center in Texarkana college. The Pancake Day will be from 7 AM to 2 PM and will include pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, coffee, juice, and milk. The cost is just $5 per person in advance and $7 at the door. All proceeds will help fund major projects of the Kiwanis Club of Texarkana. Sponsored Programs The Texarkana Kiwanis Club is a major supporter of youth programs especially programs in our local area schools. Their K-Kids program focuses on self-esteem building and the importance of service to others. Their Builders Club is a Middle School-based program that includes more hands-on service to our community. Apr 13, 2021 Beloved husband and father, Leslie Milton Graham, 95, of Marshalltown, IA passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m., until the time of the services at the church. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery with military honors provided by the Marshalltown Combined VFW and American Legion Honor Guard. Arrangements are entrusted to Anderson Funeral Homes of Marshalltown. Sidney Kiwanis celebrates 100th anniversary Courtesy photo SIDNEY Founded on Nov. 17, 1920, the Sidney Kiwanis have been serving the local community for 100 years. “We look forward to celebrating with a 100th anniversary banquet later this year if the pandemic allows,” said President Jim Cole. His report continues: 2020 proved to be a challenging year as we had to cancel our Annual Pancake Day due to COVID. This is one of our three main fundraisers each year. Our sponsorship campaign was completed before covid started. The Annual Labor Day Chicken Bar-B-Que was extremely successful as we sold 2,000 dinners before 3 PM.
