QUANTOCK farmers have asked members of the public to stop feeding the ponies.
They say ponies on the Quantock Hills live on grasses, heathers and plants on the hilltops and do not need extra food.
Some horses have special dietary considerations and can be intolerant to foods such as carrots and apples and cannot have too much sugar, a spokesperson for the farmers said.
Giving them sweets and treats can result in stomach ulcers, which are very painful, and colic which can kill them.
Many fruit and vegetables may seem like healthy or normal horse treats, but they are not suitable for many horses including the ponies which graze the Quantocks. ....

Robert "Bob" Cox

Robert Bob Cox, 81, passed away at 3:44 AM on December 29, 2020. He was born on February 4, 1939 to John and Juanita (Taylor) Cox in Kokomo. On November 29th, 1958, Bob married Sandra (Bergstrom) Cox.
Bob graduated in 1956 from Kokomo High School and served in the National Guard. He served on the Kokomo Fire Department from 1963 to 1988 as Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, District Chief and Chaplain. He also worked at Superior Glass and Paint. After retirement from KFD, he served as the Kokomo Rescue Mission s Executive Director from 1988 to 2006. While serving as the Director, he was instrumental in building the current Mission building and Open Arms for women and children. He also traveled to Russia several times, orchestrating the sending of several containers of relief aid to Moscow. Upon retiring from the Mission, he received the Distinguished Hoosier Award from the Governor s Office, a Key to the City and Proclamation from the Mayor s Office. He served as Chaplain ....

Colombian swimmer Carlos Serrano discusses the importance of motivation, passion and purpose in the IPC s latest episode of A Winning Mindset: Lessons From The Paralympics.
Serrano, who won three Paralympic medals at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, joined Andy Stevenson to speak over his life outside the pool and the key drivers behind his career so far.
“I feel a responsibility of making all people of short stature proud,” Serrano said. “I do intend to support sports in anyway possible, I’d like to continue providing motivation to disable people, so they can work hard and improve.” ....
