Shoshone National Replace Bridges Thru Great American Outdoors Act

Written by Andrew-Rossi on July 11, 2021 Wyoming residents can savor the first fruits of the Great American Outdoors Act, as Shoshone National Forest fully replaces a 15-year-old trail bridge. Shoshone National Forest has completed its first project with funds provided thru the Great American Outdoors Act. An existing bridge – which forest officials say has been “unserviceable” for over 15 years – has been removed and completed replaced. The bridge is located on the Yellowstone Trail near Brooks Lake, a popular trail for outdoor recreation on the Wind River Ranger District outside Dubois. In addition to Shoshone National Forest staff, this project was made possible by collaboration with the Greater Yellowstone Coordinating Committee, Wyoming State Trails, and Brooks Lake Lodge.

Sioux Lookout Ready For Boating/Fishing Season

-Hudson Boat Launch -Butterfly Lake -Deception Bay Fees are the same as last year at $7 per day, $25 per week, or $50 for the entire season. Right now permits can be picked up at Anderson’s Lodge, DJ’s Gas Bar, Mascotto’s Marina, and River’s Edge Outfitters. Officials warn that water levels remain low in Sioux Lookout area lakes and you should use extreme caution when launching your boat. Due to the low levels, docks won’t be going in at all boat launch locations at this time. U S Forest Service Commits Millions to Wyoming Projects

Written by Andrew-Rossi on March 15, 2021 National forests in Wyoming are due for several improvements this summer, as the U.S. Forest Service releases its multi-million-dollar project list for 2021. The Rocky Mountain Region of the U.S. Forest Service has announced a plethora of projects in Wyoming and elsewhere. Thanks to the passage of the Great American Outdoors Act, over $285 million dollars is available to the Forest Service for critical infrastructure improvements. $31.5 million will go to the Rocky Mountain Region, which includes national forests in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wyoming. Funds will be used to improve several amenities throughout the region.
