Mark York, known for his appearances on the NBC comedy “The Office,” has died. He was 55. York (also billed as Marcus York) died Wednesday, the Office of the Montgomery County coroner confirmed to USA TODAY. “He was a competitive spirit that kept (his family) laughing throughout their time together. He will be deeply missed by all the lives he has touched,” according to an obituary from his hometown of Arcanum, Ohio. USA TODAY has reached out to York’s agent for comment. In 1988, York was involved in a car accident that paralyzed his legs, making him wheelchair bound. York pursued a career in acting after graduating with degrees in psychology, sociology, and social work from Anderson University in Indiana. ....

Softball team advances to NCAA championship The UNG softball team clinched the NCAA Southeast Regional title with 4-0 and 3-1 victories against Lincoln Memorial University on May 22 at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park. For the first time since 2018, the University of North Georgia (UNG) softball team is headed to the NCAA Division II championship. As the No. 4 seed in the Elite Eight, UNG will begin the double-elimination event at 3:30 p.m. May 27 against fifth-seeded Biola University in Denver, Colorado.
