Eagle County's COVID-19 numbers drop, vaccination figures climb

Incidence levels of COVID-19 are down in Eagle County, while vaccination numbers are up.
Eagle County Emergency Management Director Birch Barron said it’s “pretty much solid good news all around” on Tuesday when he delivered his weekly update to the county commissioners.
Last week, the county’s COVID-19 incidence rate cases per 100,000 people had inched into Level Orange, which is “high risk,” and that had local public health officials concerned. But this week, the county’s incidence is solidly in the Level Yellow ”concerned” realm.
“Eagle County has been flirting with orange for a while now,” said Barron. “The last thing we want to see right now is to have that disease level climb.” ....

Eagle County commissioners delve into Edwards RiverPark specifics

The Eagle County commissioners continued their public hearing for the Edwards RiverPark proposal Tuesday with a two-hour session that featured the county planning staff’s presentation detailing the reasoning behind the determination that the project “substantially complies” with the area’s master plan.
The Edwards RiverPark is a commercial/residential planned unit development proposal from a group called Sierra Trail Investments LLC. The project is planned on a 53.7-acre parcel located north of U.S. Highway 6 and south of the Eagle River on land that was formerly the site of a B&B Excavating gravel pit operation. The proposal includes two large condo buildings and a condo/hotel building along with commercial buildings, multifamily residential and townhomes. ....

Eagle County launches public hearings for Edwards RiverPark plan

As the Eagle County Board of Commissioners began its review process for the Edwards RiverPark project on Tuesday, members of the county planning staff introduced the proposal by sharing their conclusion that the plan “substantially complied” with the master plan for the area.
But when given their opportunity to comment on the proposal, more than a dozen Edwards residents vehemently disagreed with that assessment. Instead, they said the Edwards RiverPark plan fails to protect the small-town values promoted in the Edwards Area Community Plan. ....
