Last Wednesday was a special night at SoFi Stadium. What is usually reserved for gamedays was transformed for a ceremony, as 14 young scholars from the Bolt Academy successfully completed and graduated from the program. To take these 14 kids who worked so hard, went through the Academy, studied and fought hard, to graduate and come here today as part of game day is something I think that will affect their lives forever, mentioned Chargers chief of staff Fred Maas. For us to be part of that and see the smiles on their faces is something you can t quantify. It s incredibly rewarding. ....
AN event is set to be music to the ears as people enjoy a gradual easing of lockdown restrictions. Tea on the Square – on Saturday, July 3 – will be Keighley Town Council’s first event of the year. Old-time music will be performed by Melissa Harper and Pete Jones. And performing arts school Bolt Academy, with its choir, will entertain. The free event – at Town Hall Square – will be opened at 1pm by the town mayor, Councillor Julie Adams. Activities will run until 4pm. Tea and cake will be available for a donation to the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice, Manorlands. Cllr Adams said: “We are truly excited to be hosting Tea on the Square. ....
