ANTONIO: Avoid camping - and I avoid picking apples. Other than that, we are fine.
(LAUGHTER)
FURLAN: Hi, I m Julia Furlan, and this is NPR s LIFE KIT. In this episode, we re talking about something that I m extremely passionate about - camping. But as you might be able to tell from my conversation with my mom and dad in Brazil, I did not grow up camping.
Why didn t we go camping in the U.S.?
ANTONIO: Why - you mean we as a family?
FURLAN: Yeah.
ANTONIO: I hate camping. We don t have a tent. I don t like to put up tents. I m not very mechanical of all those things. OK. So camping needs someone with some mechanical abilities. And then you re going to cook and that part (inaudible) - yeah.

DUTES: For me, the pieces in my home tell a story about who I am, so I wanted to talk to one of my favorite curators about art in the home.
KIMBERLY DREW: How do you take the agency in your own space to say this is really valuable and this is the object or set of objects that, when someone walks through the threshold of my home, a guest in my home, how do I tell them who I am? And so whether something is art or not is less interesting to me. It s really more, what kind of stories do we want to tell for ourselves in our home space?
