The Ford Mustang Mach-E has set a new Guinness World Record for EV efficiency. The electric SUV averaged 10.7 km per kWh on a 1,777 km journey from John O Groats to Land s End in the UK.
The record attempt took place on July 3. The electric SUV was driven by three BBC transport correspondents - Paul Clifton, Fergal McGrath and Kevin Brooker, who also hold the world records for petrol and diesel efficiency between them.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E was driven at a consistent pace of 50 km/h and the entire journey was completed in 27 hours. The Mach-E was charged only twice during the attempt, spending a combined time of 45 minutes being plugged in. ....
