He will portray one of the drug kingpins behind the French connection, an underworld system that put dangerous narcotics on to American streets. Leonine & Lionsgate Ink Three-Picture Pact Leonine Studios secured the territory rights to Borderlands, Eli Roth’s adaptation of the best-selling video game; White Bird: A Wonder Story, the companion film drawn from the universe of the 2017 box office hit Wonder; and the action-comedy The deal comes after the successful collaboration between Lionsgate and Leonine Studios on global hit Knives Out. Leonine lands Lionsgate film deal

Cate Blanchett speaking at C21’s International Drama Summit in 2019 German content company Leonine Studios has secured an all-rights distribution deal for Germany and Austria for three forthcoming Lionsgate films, starring actors including Cate Blanchett and Helen Mirren. Based on the video game from Gearbox and 2K, Borderlands, which stars Blanchett alongside Jack Black and Jamie Lee Curtis, follows Lilith (Blanchett), an infamous outlaw with a mysterious past as she reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora to find a missing young woman. The screenplay is written by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl, The Hangover franchise), with co-writer Eli Roth (Hostel) directing.
