World shocked at viral Aussie octopus

Lance Karlson was on holiday and walking along the beach in Georgraphe Bay, Western Australia when he came across a seemingly very irritated octopus.
Now footage of his aggressive encounter with the animal has gone viral, with his 30 second Instagram video receiving over 264,300 views. The video shows a large octopus swimming in shallow water before it jumps out and thrashes its tentacles at Mr Karlson.
The angriest octopus in Geographe Bay! he wrote in the caption.
After going after a seagull it then decided my daughter and I deserved a lashing! I later discovered its home among a crab graveyard, where it came after me again! ....

A video showing an octopus lashing out at a man on a beach last month in Western Australia has gone viral.
Geologist and author Lance Karlson was about go for a swim near the resort where he and his family were staying on March 19 when he spotted what he believed was stingray s tail striking a seagull, according to Reuters. Upon further inspection, Karlson and his 2-year-old daughter discovered it was an octopus.
He took a video of the creature swimming near him in shallow water before it suddenly launched its arms at him. Then, after setting up his family in a sun protection tent, he put on some goggles and went into the water alone to explore crab shells. Once he was swimming, the octopus found him again and used its arms to lunge at Karlson, who felt a forceful sting across his neck and back. ....

All of a sudden, they saw the tentacles of an octopus whip out of the water at a seagull.
Curious at the sight, Karlson pulled out his phone and started filming. The octopus started swimming towards him, lashed its tentacles at them before retreating.
Later, Karlson went swimming and found the octopus sitting on a bed of shells.
As he was looking at the shells, the octopus attacked him, striking him on the arm and connecting to the back of his neck.
My goggles were too fogged to see what had happened and I swam back to shore in pain, Karlson said. The imprints of the tentacles quickly formed raised marks across my skin. ....

Nest to invest £1.4bn in green energy in UK and Europe

Nest has appointed Octopus Renewables to boost its investment in clean energy infrastructure, with £250m expected to be committed this year in the UK and Europe, as part of a potential £1.4bn investment by the end of the decade.
By investing directly in green energy generation, Nest stated that it will secure “stable, long-term returns” for pension savers, whilst also achieving its ambition of becoming a net-zero carbon investor.
The mandate will target deployment into renewable energy projects and the associated infrastructure, predominantly in the UK and Europe, to support the transition to a net-zero economy.
As part of this, Octopus Renewables will arrange investment deals directly with the owners of renewable infrastructure projects, negotiating bespoke deals to ensure members are suitably rewarded for injecting new funding. ....
