The Kensington Conservancy, a Desbarats-based charitable land trust, recently named Carter Dorscht its new executive director, replacing outgoing director Tanna Elliott.
Dorscht had been working with the conservancy since graduating from Sault College’s Fish and Wildlife Conservation Technician program in 2015. He started as land stewardship co-ordinator, then became a program leader, and took over as chair for the Conservancy’s Sustain Algoma Expo. From there he moved up to program manager.
Dorscht told Sault This Week his college education boosted his pre-existing interest in the environment, but working at the conservancy helped lead to a strong passion for the conservation side of things. ....
