Mumbai Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project: The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), responsible for executing the country s first bullet train project, signed a contract agreement with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) - IHI Consortium on February 22, 2021. The agreement signed is for the fabrication and procurement of 28 steel bridges, for crossing over railway lines, rivers, highways, roads, and other structures for the Mumbai Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor. The NHSRCL awarded the Rs 1,390 crore contract to Larson and Toubro – IHI Infrastructure Systems (Consortium) on January 25, 2021. Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project: The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), responsible for executing the country s first bullet train project, invited technical bids for the construction of the Sabarmati maintenance depot for the Mumbai Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor. According to a statement shared by NHSRCL, the technical bids opened on Friday, February 19. A total of nine bidders participated in the process and the submitted bids will go through an evaluation process in the next stage. Recently, Vinod Kumar Yadav, Chairman of Railway Board, while addressing media via video-conferencing said that Indian Railways is making efforts that the entire bullet train project is commissioned end-to-end, at once. He added that railway authorities want to commission the bullet train project together in both Gujarat and Maharashtra and have planned accordingly. Additionally, the Maharashtra government has assured to make more than 80 per cent of land available for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project in the next four months.
