ISLAMABAD: Ashfaq Hussain Shah called on the Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr. Fehmida Mirza in her office on Thursday during which he shared the proposals suggested by his group to end the ongoing football crisis in the country.
Pakistan has been suspended by FIFA after Ashfaq and his group of football officials, who came to power after a Pakistan Football Federation election held by the Supreme Court which was not accepted by the global football body, took over the headquarters of the country’s football governing body from the PFF Normalisation Committee which was appointed by FIFA to hold fresh elections. ....

KARACHI: The group led by Ashfaq Hussain Shah is willing to negotiate with the Pakistan Football Federation Normalisation Committee in order to overturn the suspension the global football governing body FIFA has imposed on Pakistan.
Ashfaq’s group of officials, who came to power after a PFF election held by the Supreme Court in December 2018, seized control of the PFF headquarters from the Normalisation Committee last month, claiming that the FIFA-appointed committee had failed to deliver its mandate of holding fresh elections of the country’s football governing body. ....

LAHORE: Former Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) President Ashfaq Hussain Shah, who led an attack on the association’s headquarters in Lahore last month, has claimed he is ready to hold talks with FIFA after the national body was suspended. FIFA suspended the PFF earlier this week after the former leadership, including Shah, had stormed PFF headquarters and forcibly removed a Normalisation Committee established to run its affairs. The officials were claimed to have demanded Normalisation Committee chairman Haroon Malik hand over accounts and cheque books. Malik told media a “mob” organised by Shah had “barged into my office and asked me to hand over charge of the PFF and all bank accounts”. The dispute comes amid continued delays to the PFF elections. Malik has claimed Pakistan being banned by FIFA could “kill football in the country”. ....

KARACHI: FIFA is not happy with the situation of Pakistan’s football and it may impose a lengthy ban on the country if it fails to correct its own house.
Credible sources told ‘The News’ on Friday that FIFA’s senior officials are furious over the situation in Pakistan football and are considering imposing a five-year ban on the country if the situation is not resolved in a few days at the local level.
FIFA the other day suspended Pakistan and has said that the suspension will be lifted only after it receives a confirmation from the PFF Normalisation Committee that it has achieved complete access to the PFF headquarters, accounts and other necessary channels and can operate independently. ....

FIFA is considering imposing a lengthy ban on Pakistan if stakeholders of the game fail to sort out the ongoing Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) dispute.
Credible sources on Friday said that senior officials of the world governing body are furious over the recent events that took place at PFF headquarters and are considering extending the PFF suspension to five years if the matter is not resolved in a few days. ....
