As India faces a deadly second wave of Covid-19 that has killed more than 250,000 people and badly strained hospitalsâ ability to house and care for the sick, a number of Silicon Valley venture capital and technology executives have rallied resources to help address the crisis.
âThis is a huge crisis,â says Navin Chaddha, managing director at Mayfield venture capital, who says he has lost college friends to the virus. âAs venture industry and entrepreneurs, we need to get more than money, we need to give our time.â Starting in May, Mayfieldâs philanthropic offshoot raised around a million dollars and delivered 1000 oxygen concentrators to India, he says

The move comes after Turing’s recent announcement of its $32 million Series B funding round led by WestBridge Capital, which has a $3.3 billion fund, and including Foundation Capital, which led Turing’s earlier round. To date, Turing has raised nearly $50 million in venture funding.
