Swintonhill Care home have raised £7500 for a new touchscreen device A BAILLIESTON care home have raised thousands for a vital piece of technology to help residents throughout the pandemic. Staff at Swintonhill Nursing Home started a GoFundMe page with the aim of raising £6000 for a bespoke interactive touch screen device which will provide residents with reminiscence, brain training, physical exercise, creativity, entertainment and the opportunity to video call family and friends as visits are not able to go ahead currently. The fundraiser has now smashed it’s target raising almost £7500 for the cutting edge piece of technology and now any extra fundraising will go towards building a summer house in the home’s garden. ....

Vette Claims Title alongside Stairmandâs Record Breaking 8th 2021 National Surfing Championships presented by The Trusts Community Foundation 19-year-old Saffi Vette of Gisborne has claimed an emotional national title at Piha today, bringing much of the surfing community present to tears as she exited the water. Vette was joined by Raglanâs Billy Stairmand who broke his own record to claim an eighth title in the Menâs Division. The 2021 National Surfing Championships presented by The Trusts Community Foundation climaxed with the premier divisions being contested in good 1.0m waves with light variable sea breeze winds. Vette faced off against the most talent laden field of finalists ever, a final filled with a World Tour surfer, ex World Junior Champion and the defending event champion, exiting the water with a win which she was quick to attribute to her father who passed away less than four months ago. ....
