With the recent reopening of California, I could not be happier to be sharing with you our summer community programming. We are starting to see signs of the “old normal.”
The youth in our community have completed an entire year of virtual and/or hybrid learning. It’s been amazing to watch the resiliency of our kids during this time. For some, the transition to virtual school was seamless with minor impacts. For others, it was one of the most challenging experiences of their lives to date, and the impacts have been substantial. In either case, completion of this school year demands celebration and congratulations to kids, parents, and educators. We hope parents will check out all of our summer offerings. We hope you find a program that will give your kids a break from their routine and from their screens.

“As iGIG we continue to encourage and enable Indian Americans to get and stay involved in whatever way they can and are excited that over 25 Indian Americans are engaged in elected roles and several others are in appointed positions,” said iGIG President Vineeta Kumar. “The desire to serve and bring their perspective to the table are two broad reasons that motivate them. It’s exciting to see Indian Americans playing a role in the ecosystem, trying to find solutions to our most pressing problems.”

Holding town and school annual meetings over the internet followed by drive through voting didn’t feel right to Dunbarton’s elected officials.
Such a scenario, offered to towns through an executive order by the governor, “would not allow any voter discussion or voter-initiated amendments of the articles on the warrants,” Dunbarton moderator Rene Ouellet said. “Both boards felt this to be too restrictive of the give-and-take discussion that generally occurs during our meetings.”
