BJP MLC Hari Narayan Choudhary died of COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Patna
BJP MLC Hari Narayan Choudhary died of COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Patna, an official said on Saturday. Choudhary, 77, was elected from the Samastipur District Local Area Authority.
He was admitted to the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Patna about a week ago after testing positive for COVID-19, said Awadhesh Narain Singh, the acting chairman of the Bihar Legislative Council.
Choudhary died around 11 pm on Friday while undergoing treatment, he said.
Expressing condolences, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that Choudhary was very popular among the people and had a keen interest in social work. ....

Bihar legislative council closed till April 25, after its three employees died of Covid-19 in last 10 days | Patna News

PATNA: Bihar Legislative Council chairman Awadhesh Narain Singh on Monday ordered closure of the council and its secretariat till April 25 after one more employee died of covid-19.
“Lal Babu Ram, a sweeper in the council, died of covid-19 at his residence in the state capital. He was the third council employee who died of covid-19 in the last 10 days,” the Council public relation officer AJit Ranjan told TOI on Monday.
After a brief condolence meeting, the chairman ordered closure of the council and its secretariat till April 25 to check further spread of covid-19 infection among other employees. ....

Nitish asks Uttarakhand CM to enquire about flood situation, offers help

on Sunday called his Uttarakhand counterpart Trivendra Singh Rawat over phone and enquired about the flood situation in the northern state, an official release here said.
He offered support to Rawat in this hour of crisis, the release said.
A glacier broke off at Joshimath in Uttarakhand s Chamoli district, leading to a massive flood in the Dhauli Ganga river and causing large-scale devastation in the upper reaches of the ecologically fragile Himalayas.
