PATIALA: Patiala division commissioner Chander Gaind and deputy commissioner Kumar Amit visited the families of farmers who lost their lives during the ongoing agitation against the new agri-marketing laws at Singhu border on Thursday, to assure them of monetary help. Patiala MP Preneet Kaur, who made video calls to these families, assured them of Rs 5 lakh ex gratia grant each. Gaind, who met Bachan Kaur, the mother of deceased farmer Pal Singh (58) of Sahauli village near Bhadson, said the state government is committed to help these families and extending them every possible support. At Sapherra village, he directed the district officials to pursue cases of two farmers Gurpreet Singh (22) and Labh Singh (68) who died in a road accident while returning home from Singhu border for monetary help to the families. He also ordered similar help to those who were injured the accident. ....
