By Premiere Networks Apr 19, 2021 TODD: This is so cool. There s a Missouri state senator, Holly Rehder, who has proposed some legislation that would designate a day honoring El Rushbo. She s a Republican, shockingly, of course, and this is during a Missouri senate committee meeting. She wants to make Rush s birthday that s January 12th Rush Limbaugh Day. There are a couple of different efforts in this regard. There s also an effort I love this to encourage. They want to encourage people to celebrate Rush on that day and his role as a radio host. I hope they ll say he s a thinker. I hope they ll talk about Rush the mentor. I hope they ll talk about Rush the philanthropist. There s also some efforts to name a six-mile stretch of highway after Rush, the Rush Limbaugh Memorial Highway. ....
Missouri Lawmakers Propose Ways to Honor Native Son Rush Limbaugh 16 Apr 2021 Lawmakers in Missouri are sponsoring legislation to honor late radio host and native son Rush Limbaugh, including designating his January 12 birthday as Rush Limbaugh Day and naming a six-mile stretch of Interstate 55 as Rush Limbaugh Memorial Highway. Legislation to designate a six-mile section of Interstate 55 in Cape Girardeau County as the “Rush Limbaugh Memorial Highway” is working its way through both the Missouri House and Senate this week. The Southeast Missourianreported on the bills working their way through state lawmaking bodies: State Rep. Wayne Wallingford (R-147/Cape Girardeau) introduced House Bill 1259 on Feb. 23, six days after Limbaugh died of cancer in Florida. On Monday, Wallingford’s measure passed the lower chamber’s Transportation Committee on a party-line vote of 10-4 and has been referred to the Rules-Legislative Oversight panel for review. ....
