The United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC) published new rules on Tuesday that will make slot gaming slower, but leave online poker largely unaffected.

The new rules are the latest update to the 2005 Gambling Act. As part of its ongoing effort to make online betting and gaming safer, the UKGC, in tandem with the British government, launched a consultation in late 2020.
The aim was to procure feedback from consumers and operators before implementing new gambling regulations fit for the digital era.

As the UK government prepares to update its national Gambling Act, voices from both sides are starting to have their say. However, one side of the debate is currently drowning out the other, according to some members of the community.
The Times newspaper recently led with the headline “We lost £11.8 Million: It’s time to make the betting industry pay.” Horse racing enthusiast Jason Brautigam believes this article could harm the UK gambling industry.
Entering Week 14, NFL underdogs had posted a winning record against the spread in eight of the past nine weeks. Overall, underdogs had covered the spread in 56.9% of games this season, a mark that would be the best in any season since 1980, according to ESPN Stats and Information research.
Unfortunately for the betting public, they ve never been overly fond of the underdogs certainly not this season, and it has resulted in what one veteran Las Vegas bookmaker called his best NFL season.
