How wanderlusty are we getting in Southern California, while debate flares over Europe s readiness for American tourists? Well, I’m sitting at home trying to decide which continental stand-in made me happier, a croque monsieur in Los Feliz or a gondola ride in Long Beach.
I think I d have to go with the Venetian-style vessels that Gondola Getaway operates on the canals around Naples Island. To slowly drift under a bridge while a gondolier breaks into song that should put Venetian thoughts in your head, especially if you close your eyes and think of Italy. ....

Local theme park fans, you’re in luck: attendance at local parks is currently limited to California residents only. This was initially a state requirement, but updated guidance that went into effect last week allows theme parks to sell to out-of-state visitors.
Theme parks in the Greater L.A. area are planning to keep attendance to Californians despite the updated guidance, at least for now. However, SeaWorld in San Diego has already started offering tickets to out-of-state residents.
You’ll need to limit the size of your group. While you can visit theme parks with friends, if you’re buying tickets together, your group has to be limited to members of no more than three households. ....

Theme Parks: Universal Studios Hollywood reopens, Disneyland tickets go on sale

The cinematic theme park reopened its famed gates on Friday with two noteworthy premieres. The Secret Life of Pets: Off The Leash! dark ride, based on the 2016 film and its sequel, was set to open last spring but was delayed until this month due to the pandemic. Located just beyond an apartment facade in Pets Place, the new Manhattan-themed street features a faux bodega and subway station, while the attraction takes passengers in a cardboard box-like vehicle through New York City, encountering characters from the movie throughout colorful scenes. Riders, who take on the role of soon-to-be adopted pets, even see themselves snaking through different apartments as part of the queue, befitting of the film s four-legged perspective. ....

'Men in Kilts': Sam & Graham Explore the History of the 'Outlander' Clans (RECAP) | Entertainment

The duo bike, row, and rappel â which, it turns out, is not Graham s idea of fun.
Sam and Graham meet up with members of well-known clans, beginning with the MacLeods and MacDonalds. Convening at the Isle of Skyeâs Trumpan Church, they listen to Ian MacLeod and John MacDonald who detail the history behind a brutal feud between their clans.
Both clans have Viking origins, and they would often fight about who had the more heroic or powerful founder. One day, the MacLeods planned to smoke the MacDonalds out of their area by setting fire in a tunnel, but the action ultimately backfired when the men were killed. In retaliation, the MacDonalds set fire to the Trumpan Church, killing several of the MacLeods. ....
