Man police say is connected to child sex case arrested in Bellevue

A man who police say is connected to a child sex case was arrested Friday.
Joshua A. Pollard, 29, was arrested at a house in the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue in Bellevue around 8:30 pm. by members of the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office, fugitive squad and the Bellevue Police Department. Pollard was wanted on an Allegheny County Police warrant out of Pitcairn on charges he raped an 11-year-old child, police said.
He is also charged with other related sex offenses, according to officials.
At the time of his arrest, police said Pollard threw a handgun out of a third-floor window.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call the county police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. ....

Dom Costa, Deputy Sheriff Kevin Kraus announce bids for Allegheny County sheriff

Dom Costa, a former state representative and police chief, and Kevin Kraus, the current second in command of the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office, both announced their respective bids for sheriff on Friday.
Kraus comes with the endorsement of current Sheriff William Mullen, who has served in the position since 2006. Mullen is retiring at the end of his current term.
“I know that with Kraus as our sheriff, this office remains in good, capable and trustworthy hands upon my retirement,” Mullen said in a statement voicing his support for his chief deputy. ....
